BB Laundry Soap’s journey began in 1932 in Karachi, when Thakurdas Ranglani founded and named his company Dhanthak Soaps. ‘Dhanthak’ is an amalgamation of our Founder’s own first name and that of his elder brother’s – Dhanrajmal and Thakurdas.
After India gained its independence from the British, Thakurdas Ranglani crossed the newly created India-Pakistan border to set up his business operations in Kurla, Bombay in 1948. He then re-branded his laundry cake as BB Soap; initialled after the term ‘Bombay’s Best’.
In 1964, Chetan Ranglani joined his father in the family business, and took over operations of Dhanthak Soaps as CEO & Chairman in 1981 after Thakurdas Ranglani’s sad demise. Today, Chetan Ranglani and his son Umesh Ranglani together manage the company’s affairs, and have over the years spearheaded its diversification into various other spheres; including Real Estate Development and Information Technology.
